  1. Cut the beans lengthwise in half.
  2. Scrape the seeds out of the beans.
  3. Cut the beans in three.
  4. Put the vanilla seeds and the cut up beans into the bottle and top with vodka.
  5. Shake vigorously every few days for a month and store in a cool dark place.
  6. The extract is ready to use after one month

Optional

  • Sterilize your equipment before using them by boiling them for 30 minutes (knife, bottle and bottle cap)

Tip

  • When changing the old beans for new ones, dry out the old beans and use them to make vanilla sugar.
