Top 10 Recipes of 2016
Another year has passed and I look back at a year a filled with changes and making new decisions. One of the things I did was put a focus on my blog and it’s been the best decision I’ve made the past year. I’ve really enjoyed creating new recipes and being more serious and focused with my blog.
This is my top 10 of most viewed recipes of 2016.
10. Cantuccini – Italian Biscotti Recipe
This Cantuccini recipe or Italian Biscotti recipe is really easy. This version of the Italian almond cookie has a lighter bite versus the original hard one. It’s great to see this classic cookie made it into the top 10!
9. Engadiner Nusstorte – Swiss nut tart
I love this Swiss Nut Tart recipe, shortcrust pastry filled with walnuts covered in a thick caramel sauce. It deserves a place in the top 10.
8. Fresh Cinnamon and Ginger Buttercream
This amazing buttercream made with cinnamon, ginger and a hint of lemon goes well with pumpkin pecan cupcakes and makes a great filling for cakes. I was actually surprised to see this recipe make the top 10. Not because it’s not delicious, cause it is! I just didn’t think everyone would like it as much as I do, haha.
7. Irresistible Pumpkin Spice Popcorn (Speculaas Popcorn)
Pumpkin Spice Popcorn (Speculaas Popcorn) is the perfect snack for the fall and winter. This recipe is super delicious and easy to make. An irresistible snack that’ll satisfy your pumpkin spice (or speculaas) cravings during the fall and winter season. One of 3 (!) popcorn recipes that made it to the top 10 this year.
6. Speculaas Spice Mix (Speculaaskruiden)
Speculaas Spice Mix (Speculaaskruiden) is often used in Dutch cuisine. Speculaas is also known as Spekulatius, Speculoos and Spekolaus. An aromatic blend of spices. Glad to see this traditional Dutch spice blend made it to the top 10 this year. 🙂
5. Kadaif: A Sweet & Crispy Dessert (Kadayif)
These Kadaif (Kadayif) squares are even better the next day when the sugar syrup has fully soaked into the dough. The dough will be crispy on top and soft and sticky (in a good way) at the bottom with the crunch of the walnuts in between. If you’ve got a sweet tooth you’ll love these! I guess a lot of sweet people checked out this recipe to make it into the top 10 this year 😉
4. Chocolate Salty Balls
A delicious Chocolate Salty Balls recipe inspired by and adapted from South Park’s Chef song. Lick that spoon, bake ’em and stick ’em in your mouth and suck ’em! Not only did this recipe make the top 10, it’s also the recipe that got the most laughs since I posted it, hahaha.
